This is my first MFR session. What can I expect?
For your first session, I’ll spend time getting to know you (and you’ll get to know me! We’re working together on your healing path— rather than me working on you) and we’ll chat about why you’ve sought out Myofascial Release. You will complete a new client intake form (or you can save time by doing that online pre-session), and we’ll do an initial postural assessment. Then, we’ll proceed with the bodywork.
Myofascial Release is hands-on bodywork that takes its time (really- most techniques take several minutes to be effective) and uses tools like compression and traction with the collaboration of the practitioner’s expertise and intuition and the client’s experience and goals.
What do I wear?
IMPORTANT: Please show up to your session without having applied lotion. I love lotion myself, but in order for the bodywork to be its most effective, the practitioner’s (that’s me) hands need to be able to maintain contact with the client’s (that’s you) skin without sliding. Feel free to bring lotion along to apply after our session.
Most clients are most comfortable receiving Myofascial Release in their undergarments, short movement shorts and a sports bra, or in a two-piece bathing suit. Additionally, for your comfort, you will have the option to be underneath a sheet and/or blanket. Myofascial Release is most effective with skin-to-skin contact.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit/ debit cards, checks and cash payments prior to or at the time of service. I accept tips, but do not expect them.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hr cancellation policy. If you cancel a session 24+ hours before it is scheduled, there is no fee. I you cancel a session within 24 hours of a session, you are expected to pay for the session in full prior to scheduling an additional session. However, I know that life takes us all by surprise sometimes, so all clients are allotted one “free bee” last minute (within 24 hours of session) cancellation which will not incur any charge.
